Self-leadership for Success
Self-Leadership is the practice of intentionally influencing thinking, feeling and behaviors to achieve objectives (Bryant and Kazan 2012).
Self-leadership develops leaders from the ‘inside out’ by creating self-awareness which leads to greater self-responsibility and behavioral flexibility, which in turn increases your ability to work with and postively influence others to be successful.
Self-leadership is a foundational methodology for all of SLI’s programs and is as important at all levels of the organization, from new hires to seasoned CEO’s. As we experts on this topic, we can design and deliver a program of 1, 2 or 3 days and adjust the content and methodology for the seniority of participants.
Self Leadership for Success Content
The content is based on research published in the book, “Self Leadership – How to become a more Successful, Efficient and Effective Leader from the Inside Out (McGraw-Hill 2012)
Leadership for Managers
Once promoted to supervisor or manager, technical skills alone are not enough.”Do it my way”, command control management kills creativity and leads to disgruntled, disempowered employees.
Being good at what you do is important, and so is having a leadership mindset and good people skills. With leadership skills, people don’t follow because they have to, they follow because they trust and are clear about direction and expectations. The effective leader /manager knows how to bring out the best in people and direct their energies towards achieving organisational goals.
Leadership for Managers Content

Critical Skills for Leaders
Critical Skills for Senior Leaders is a dynamic leadership development program goes beyond the basics and challenges new or experienced leaders to review and revisit how they manage and lead people and teams in today’s turbulent environment.
If words of command are not clear and distinct, if orders are not thoroughly understood, the general is to blame. But if his orders are clear, and the soldiers nevertheless disobey, then it is the fault of their officers.” – Sun Tzu
Using stimulating discussion, facilitation, role play and case studies, this advanced leadership program is an opportunity for managers and leaders to step back from the way they currently doing things and consider what are the critical skills for leaders. We will explore the mindsets and actions required to successfully lead and manage a diverse workforce in a global marketplace. Critical skills for leaders is lead by an experienced facilitator who helps participants to connect management theory with practical strategies to get outstanding results.
Critical Skills for Leaders Content
This program is run as a 2-day public program in Singapore; but when delivered in-house the content is customized to the learning and development needs of the particular group of senior managers and can be run over 3-days to allow for more activities. Topics include:
Developing Influence
Developing influence could simply be described as the ability to get people to say “yes”.
“Leadership is influence.” – John C. Maxwell
Unfortunately it is not always as simple as just asking; often we must develop a strategy on how to ask to increase our chance of getting a “yes”.
Leaders, manager, marketer, sales person, trainer, coach or parent, your effectiveness is directly correlated to your ability to influence. It is a truism that we are paid not so much for what we do but what we influence others to do. We can develop our influence upwards, downwards and laterally.
Developing Influence with IntegrityInfluence starts with self-leadership because we must first influence ourselves before we can influence others. We must then consider who we want to influence, our boss, our board, our peers, our employees, or our customers. It should go without saying that you must influence with integrity and you must behave ethically as you will be altering people’s beliefs and perceptions, therefore altering their actions.
SLI can customize a 1 or 2 day program on developing influence for your organization and we can also provide mobile learning options. Typical content includes:
Global Executive Presence
26% of what it takes to get promoted has nothing to do with your technical skills or expertise, but with an intangible that has tangible results – executive presence.
Executive presence is the ability to project gravitas (substance), confidence and poise under pressure. It includes the ability to speak and present with assertiveness and influence.
As an executive coach and global leadership consultant, Andrew Bryant has helped hundreds to achieve executive presence and accelerate their impact and career. Andrew is also the author of Self Leadership, How to Become a More Successful, Efficient, and Effective Leader from the Inside Out (McGraw-Hill 2012).
