Ankita Konwar - Profile
|
Ankita Konwar is one of India’s leading endurance athletes, a motivational speaker, and a passionate advocate for movement as a way of life. She is the first woman from Assam to become an Ironman and the first woman from North east India to swim across the English Channel, proving that extraordinary achievements are built through consistency rather than extraordinary beginnings.
From running marathons across continents to completing one of the world’s toughest endurance challenges, Ankita’s journey is rooted in resilience, discipline, and the belief that the human body and mind are capable of far more than we imagine. Beyond racing, she has spent years building communities that encourage more women to embrace sport. She is also the founder of world’s only women-only ultra race knows as Invincible Women’s run. Through running, yoga, and endurance events, she inspires thousands to challenge limiting beliefs, prioritize health, and discover confidence through movement. Three years ago, Ankita Konwar didn't even know how to swim. Today, she has crossed one of the toughest open-water challenges on the planet—the English Channel. As part of a six-member international relay team, she completed the iconic Dover-to-Calais crossing in 13 hours and 5 minutes, becoming the first Assamese woman and the first woman from Northeast India to achieve this historic feat. The English Channel tests everything—freezing waters, powerful currents, unpredictable tides and constantly changing weather. But sometimes, the biggest obstacle isn't the water. It's believing you belong there. What makes this story unforgettable is that Ankita wasn't born a swimmer. In just three years, she transformed herself into an endurance athlete, completed a Full Ironman, raced the T100 Triathlon, and now has the English Channel to her name. Her words say it best: If someone who wasn't even a swimmer once can stand here today, then anything is possible with consistency and courage. |
