Sharad Sharma is the former CEO of Yahoo! India R&D and was responsible for emerging markets engineering and several key global products. Sharad has 23+ yrs of experience in internet, software and wireless sectors involves a turnaround (of VERITAS India ops), a startup (now part of Cisco), and an intrapreneurial setup of AT&T/Lucent’s R&D in India.
Sharad is an evangelist for developing technology product businesses in India and participate in efforts to nurture the supporting ecosystem. He is part of the Governing Council and a Co-Founder for iSPIRT(Indian Software Product Industry RoundTable), actively mentor startups, and speaks frequently on industry issues. Sharad Sharma co-founded iSPIRT Foundation, a non-profit technology think tank that has conceptualized India Stack, Health Stack and other digital public goods. Sharad also co-founded Teltier Technologies, a wireless infrastructure startup now part of CISCO. Sharad is a member of National Startup Advisory Council, SEBI's Financial and Regulatory Technology Committee and Chairs the taskforce on DPI in ThinkTank20 (T20) engagement group of G20. An alumnus if Delhi College of Engineering, he previously held R&D leadership positions at Yahoo, VERITAS, Symantec, Lucent and AT&T. Sharad’s personal mantra is to lead big and small companies through orbit change. Sharad is one of the active technology angel investors in India with about two dozen investments. Sharad is a passionate evangelist of the software product ecosystem in India. He is the co-founder and Governing Council member of iSPIRT. He was the Chair of NASSCOM Product Forum and a member of the Executive Council from 2009-13. He has held a number of senior executive positions with leading technology companies. Most recently he was a SVP at Yahoo! and CEO of India R&D. Previously he turned around VERITAS operations in India. He also brought AT&T/Lucent R&D to India as an intrapreneur.
