Lt. General KJS ( TINY) Dhillon - Speaker Profile

Lieutenant General Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon, PVSM, UYSM, YSM, VSM (Retd), an alumnus of the National Defense Academy, is a 1983-commissioned Infantry Officer (Rajputana Rifles). Popularly known as 'Tiny' Dhillon, he served extensively in counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operational areas of Kashmir and the North-east. During the most challenging environment of the Pulwama IED blast and the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, he commanded the Srinagar-based 15 Corps in Kashmir. He superannuated as Director General, Defense Intelligence Agency, under the Chief of Defense Staff in January 2022.

Expert on finding military and strategic solutions to challenging problems, building best in class teams, and solution-based strategies spanning over 39 years delivering mission-critical services to originations and governments. Field of Specialisation being Military, Strategy, Intel, Perspective Planning, Leadership, Motivation, Cultural snd Value system, HR management, Team building, Crisis Management, ORSA and Administration.

He Served a total of eight tenures in Counter Terrorism Operational areas, of which six in Kashmir valley. Served four tenures in Perspective Planning Directorate of Indian Army dealing with future strategies and preparation of 15 Years Long Term Perspective Plans. Commanded a Rashtriya Rifles Sector as Brigadier in Kashmir Valley and has the distinction of commanding elite 15 Corps as Lt Gen during most challenging environment of Pulwama IED blast, Balakote and Abrogation of Article 370 & 35A.

As Director General Defence Intelligence Agency & Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Intelligence) responsible for International Military Cooperation and international strategic intelligence Worked closely with India’s first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and Government’s top echelons in various strategic planning aspects including executing one of the most challenging policy decisions of the recent times, i.e. Abrogation of Article 370 and 35A in J&K.

Lt. General KJS Dhillon is a highly regarded Domestic and Global Security and Intel expert with four decades of experience in working closely with various national agencies and government organizations of India.

During his military career of 39 years, he has been awarded with the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, Yudh Seva Medal, and the Vishisht Seva Medal.
