Ishi Khosla is a practicing clinical nutritionist, consultant, writer, columnist, researcher, author and an entrepreneur.
She is actively involved in clinical practice at the Centre For Dietary Counseling in Delhi, where she deals with a wide range of nutrition related health problems including cardio-vascular disease, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, gastro-intestinal problems, allergies etc. Passionate about nutrition and a strong believer in the power of foods, she spearheaded, the first of its kind, a health food company 'Whole Foods', in the business of producing and retailing health foods and operating Health Cafe's. Recently, Ms. Khosla has been nominated as a Member of the Programme Advisory Committee, Doordarshan Kendra, New Delhi. Member of the Governing Body of Lady Irwin College, Delhi University, she also works as a consultant to several organizations and is involved in the food industry including multinational companies, schools and education institutions. She lectures extensively and is invited frequently to radio and television programmes. As part of her commitment towards community nutrition and public health, Ms. Khosla founded 'The Celiac Society For Delhi', the first of its kind in India, to spread awareness about Celiac Disease, a condition caused by wheat intolerance. She has authored three books, recent one titled 'Is Wheat Killing You?' and the other 'The Diet Doctor' published by Penguin. Recent recognitions include 'Distinguished Alumnus 2011' at Lady Irwin College, 'Women's Achiever's award in the Field of Nutrition by The Imperial & Cancer Patient Aids Association and 'Jijabai Women Achiever's award'. She has also been listed among the 25 most powerful women in the Country by the India Today Group. |
