Meet Speaker Neelesh Misra
Neelesh Misra is a 39-year-old award-winning journalist, Bollywood lyrics and scripts writer, author, radio storyteller and photographer. As a journalist, he has covered some of the biggest stories out of South Asia. He has written four best-selling books. Neelesh is setting up a rural call centre and a rural newspaper in a backward village in remote Uttar Pradesh. He also writes Bollywood scripts, and is the creative director and the lyricist of Band Called NINE, India’s first writer-led band.
Neelesh started his career as a Bollywood lyricist, when while researching for a book in Mumbai, he met director Mahesh Bhatt, which led to his debut song Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai for Jism, this was followed by hit songs like Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai for Woh Lamhe , and went on write over 20 songs in over 15 films. In 2012, he co-wrote the screenplay for Salman Khan starrer, Ek Tha Tiger, along with film's director Kabir Khan.[ Neelesh Misra’s work has reached some of the biggest audio platforms in India including All India Radio, Red FM, Big FM, Radio City, Radio Mirchi, RadioMantra and the Saavn App. This includes storytelling on themes from urban romance to rural role models to governance, by India’s leading and most loved storyteller Neelesh Misra, also the founder of the Gaon Connection rural media enterprise, a prolific lyricist, scriptwriter, author, singer, speaker, journalist and Mentor.
