With Gary at the helm of coaching the Indian Cricket team did extremely well as they reached the No.1 rank in Test cricket. The biggest result of his efforts were reaped in 2011, when the Indian team won the ICC Cricket World Cup. In the words of MS Dhoni, who was the Indian captain at that time , Kirsten was “the best thing to happen to Indian cricket”.
