MAJOR DEEPAK IYER - PROFILE
Major Deepak Iyer is India’s most famous Special Forces speaker in the corporate space. He has the rare combination of being a Special Forces officer from the same Unit that did the surgical strikes in 2016, a former McKinsey consultant, an IIM-Ahmedabad and Columbia University trained MBA, a certified Yoga instructor, and an Executive Coach and Leadership Facilitator. Major Deepak has been a keynote speaker across dozens of marquee organizations that include names such as Tata Steel, ISRO,IIM-Bangalore, ITC, IBM, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, IDBI and Dr Reddys. An alumnus of NDA Khadakwasla and IMA Dehradun, Maj. Deepak has had the unique privilege of leading special operations in some of the most dangerous parts of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Siachen Glacier. He was even deputed as a Counter-Terrorism faculty in Northern Command Battle School Bhalra. He participated in NDA Golden Jubilee Motor Rally in 1999, and Indian Army Kashmir to Kanyakumari Paramotor Expedition in 2005. He met and interacted with the CMs/Governors of Maharashtra, Goa, TN, Kerala, Karnataka and erstwhile AP during the expedition and motivated thousands of students to join the Armed Forces.
Post his military tenure, he completed his MBA from IIM Ahmedabad in 2010 where he was mentored by Late Dr Abdul Kalam and was subsequently even invited by Shri Narendra Modi to be part of his team. Major Deepak then joined McKinsey & Co. in their India office and led business transformation initiatives at several large global organizations both in and out of India. In 2016, Major Deepak chose to fully plunge into the space of executive coaching, cultural transformation and leadership facilitation. He has since coached dozens of senior executives, founders and promoters, as well as led top team workshops across some of the most prestigious organizations in India.
