The Water Coolers
Satirical Musical Comedy Troupe
Meet the Water Coolers
Do you ever feel like you’ve got all your eggs in one basket, six balls in the air, 2 kids waiting to be picked up from soccer practice, and 7000 emails to return? Well gather ‘round. The Water Coolers delivers a high powered, laugh-out-loud combination of sketch comedy and music about what we go through just making each day happen – life, work, kids, husbands, wives, travel, technology – and trying to balance them it all. Think Seinfeld set to music. E! Entertainment Television calls this hilarious act “the hottest ticket in town!” the New York Times exclaims, “Office life’s loss is show business’s gain!” and The Miami Herald raved THE WATER COOLERS is “like a big thumbs up at a shareholders meeting!”
The Water Coolers is a New York based musical comedy group that delivers songs & sketch comedy to corporate, association, and convention audiences, as well as, appearing in theaters across the country. For your next sales meeting, office party, or annual retreat, gather round The Water Coolers™. The Water Coolers employs original songs, musical parodies and comic sketches to lovingly lampoon the fast-changing, fast-talking, hard-driving office environment of contemporary America. Both a salute and a send-up, The Water Coolers satirizes the myths, mores and madness of corporate living. The Water Coolers is self-contained and portable entertainment. A company of seven including five performers, one pianist, and one production manager carry all scenic elements and costumes. Talk to us about optional packages to customize the show for your audience. Corporate trainer and former conference planner Sally Allen and comedy writer Thomas Michael Allen decided to blend their individual expertise into a common venture. Using Broadway talent to create first-class musical comedy entertainment tailored to the needs of the professional meeting planner, the Allens created The Water Coolers, a "laugh-out-loud" parody of the workplace. People like to talk about themselves. They also love to hear stories about experiences familiar to them. The famous theme song from Cheers said it best, "Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name." The Water Coolers take that concept, add hilarious comedy, original music and parodies of familiar songs, and use NYC comics and singers to celebrate the crazy, funny, maddening and yet somehow universally comforting insanity of every day life. The Water Coolers created the act originally for the meetings industry but, since their Off Broadway run in 2002, The Water Coolers has found an enthusiastic and devoted audience in the mainstream entertainment world. THE WATER COOLERS have been making audiences laugh since 2000 with their unique blend of music and comedy performed by top Broadway singers and comedians. They enjoyed a smash engagement Off-Broadway in 2002 [produced by one of the producers behind HAIRSPRAY, SPAMALOT, and THE PRODUCERS] and a Chicago company starts its open-ended run June 2006. THE WATER COOLERS writing team is made up of professional comedy writers and people working in the “real world” and is headed up by one of the creators and co-authors behind New York’s longest running comedy hit ever, TONY ‘N TINA’S WEDDING. See what made one magazine writer exclaim, “I laughed so hard my cheeks hurt.” The Act
